How to use an AI speech writer for a wedding, work event or graduation

By the ChatGBot Team · Published November 2, 2026

An AI speech writer can turn your rough notes into a speech you can read aloud quickly, as long as you feed it real stories and details first. Below are prompts for three common occasions, a sample toast, and the edits that keep it sounding human.

From blank page to first draft in five steps

  1. Dump your raw material. Type names, two or three stories, and anything you definitely want to say. Messy is fine.
  2. Set the frame. Tell the AI the occasion, the audience, your role, the length in minutes and the tone.
  3. Ask for an outline first. It is easier to fix the order of ideas now than to rewrite a full draft later.
  4. Get the draft, then read it out loud. Mark every line you would never say in real life.
  5. Send those lines back. Ask for simpler replacements, then time yourself and trim.

Three prompts for three very different rooms

Wedding toast

Prompt: Write a [3]-minute wedding toast. I am the [maid of honor] speaking about [name], who is marrying [name]. Here are two true stories: [story 1], [story 2]. Tone: warm and funny, but no jokes about exes or anything embarrassing for the family. End by asking everyone to raise a glass. Use short sentences that are easy to say out loud.

Work speech

Prompt: Write a [5]-minute speech for [team meeting or company event]. I am [your role]. The goal is to [thank the team / announce a change / kick off a project]. Key points: [point 1], [point 2], [point 3]. The audience is [who]. Keep it direct, avoid corporate buzzwords, and give me one clear thing I want people to do afterward.

Graduation speech

Prompt: Write a [4]-minute graduation speech for [school name]. I am [a student / a parent / a teacher]. Moments this class will recognize: [moment 1], [moment 2]. The main message is [your message]. Avoid cliches about "the next chapter" and "the journey." Open with a specific memory, not a quote.

New to this? Our guide on what makes a good prompt explains why details matter.

What a good result looks like

Here is a short opening written from the notes "Maya, college roommate, once drove four hours to bring me soup":

"Most of you know Maya as the calm one. I know her as the person who once drove four hours in the rain because I had the flu and mentioned, in passing, that I was out of soup. She showed up with soup. She also showed up with a thermometer and opinions. Daniel, you have no idea how well looked after you are about to be."

It works because it has one real story, a small joke, and a turn toward the partner.

Making it sound like you, and what to check

  • Share a sample of your voice. Paste a message or email you wrote and ask the AI to match its rhythm. Our guide to AI rewriting has more ways to adjust tone.
  • Delete anything too polished. If you would not say a phrase at dinner, cut it.
  • Time it yourself. AI is often off on length, so read the draft aloud with a timer running.

The honest limits: AI can invent details to fill gaps, so remove anything that did not happen. It also cannot know family tensions or company politics. Check every name, date and job title.

Speech tools or a general AI chat?

Dedicated speech generators usually give you a form to fill in, which is quick and hard to get wrong. The tradeoff is that you often get less room to push back and iterate. A general AI chat has no form, so you need to supply the details yourself, but you can revise line by line for as long as you like and use it for the follow-up thank-you email too.

Writing your speech in ChatGBot

ChatGBot is a general chat, so you get your speech by prompting as shown above. What helps here is having several models in one place. Run the same prompt on two of them, say GPT and Claude, and compare the drafts. You might keep the opening from one and the ending from the other. ChatGBot also includes voice, so you can talk through your stories instead of typing them. It is a paid subscription covering GPT, Claude, DeepSeek, Qwen and GLM in one app.

Frequently asked questions

Can AI write a good wedding speech?

Yes, if you give it real stories and names. Without personal details you will get a generic toast, so treat the AI as a drafting partner and add your own voice.

Is it okay to use AI to write a speech?

For most personal and work occasions, yes, because the stories and the delivery are still yours. If a school or contest has its own rules, check them first.

How do I stop an AI speech from sounding fake?

Read it aloud and replace any line you would not naturally say. Pasting a sample of your own writing and asking the AI to match it also helps.

How long should my speech be?

Follow what the host or organizer asks for. If nobody specifies, a short speech is usually safer, so tell the AI your target in minutes and time the draft yourself.

Will the AI make things up?

It can. Remove any detail you did not provide and double check names, dates and titles before the day.

Ready to try it yourself?

Write down your two best stories, paste them into the wedding, work or graduation prompt above, and you will have a draft to edit before your coffee gets cold.
