An example of a useful answer
Imagine you uploaded a staff handbook and asked: "How much notice do I need to give for parental leave? Quote the sentence."
"Section 6.2 says: 'Employees must give at least 30 days' written notice before the leave begins.' The handbook does not say what happens if a birth comes earlier than expected. You may want to ask HR about that."
This handbook is made up for illustration, but it is the kind of answer you want: it points to a place you can check, quotes the wording, and admits what the document does not cover.
Always check the answer against the document
AI PDF readers can be confidently wrong. Watch for these:
- Verify quotes. Search the PDF for the quoted words. If they are not there, don't trust the answer.
- Check numbers and tables. Columns can get misread, especially in complicated layouts.
- Watch for scans. Scanned pages, handwriting and charts may be read badly or not at all.
- Look for missing conditions. Summaries can drop an "unless" or "except" that changes the meaning.
- Mind what you upload. Follow your employer's rules, and think twice about confidential files.
